Diablo III – Followers Preview

In Diablo III, going it alone is a valid option… but it’s not always the safest one. Having a brave companion at your side might not save you from the tearing claws of your enemies, but it can’t hurt to improve your odds. Fortunately, there are others in Sanctuary willing to risk life and limb to strike out at the nightmares sweeping the land – non-player characters that we call followers who’ll accompany you on your journey and join you into battle. You’ll meet and recruit three followers in Diablo III: the Templar, Kormac, a hulking, spear-wielding warrior following a harsh and unyielding code of ethics; the Scoundrel, Lyndon, a roguish wanderer with a crossbow and a knack for getting into trouble; and the Enchantress, Eirena, a conduit for sorcerous forces capable of empowering you and confusing your enemies. These heroes aren’t hidden off the beaten path; their stories entwine with yours, and you’ll encounter them all as you traverse the lands of Sanctuary. Each follower has his or her own agenda and reasons for fighting against the darkness, and you’ll learn more about their histories and motives as you battle alongside them.. Your followers are skilled warriors in their own right, so it’s only proper that they grow in power as they’re pitted against increasingly deadly foes. They’ll gain experience as you fight together, change visually as you provide them with new equipment, and you’ll be able to choose new skills for them as they level up. Only one follower can

Templar is best with your ranged character (ie. Demon Hunter) I am guessing.

@0zzy07 It’s Blizzard. They wouldn’t make a shitty story if their lives depended on it =P

  5. 0zzy07 says:

I hope the story is not cheesy

  6. AmphibiousFries says:

    @Diablo3Inc Woo! thanks for info!

  7. Diablo3Inc says:

@AmphibiousFries You’re in luck :) Jay Wilson said a short while ago “But we are modeling cows for the game. There will be a high chance that there will be cows in the game and that you will be able to kill them!”

  8. da1krayziethug says:

@laughoutloud889 Have you heard of sentences?

People are too forgiving of Blizzard’s lack of inspiration or their laziness. They don’t care about you or any of their customers. Take a look at any of their community managers as an example. None of them are helpful and instead troll people all day long.

What did Blizzard do when people were genuinely irked about there being a rainbow in the game? They mocked those fans by making a T-Shirt with rainbows and ponies.

    Blizzard only wants your money

  9. laughoutloud889 says:

@da1krayziethug loll are you serious? blizzard are some kinky bitch they show you whats the most bad first they did that with WoW when it first come out they show you a humain guys killing a fucking wolves auto attack will you say the game suck the game actually making million today so yeah diablo 3 will be the game of the years once again blizzard win most of the time or if you prefer they got the most seller game all the time :P love blizzard :D

  10. laughoutloud889 says:

monk just look too much beast bro whats you guys talking dont tell me you dont want to tele all around the field while you are throwing kick in their face cant believe there is some people whos dont want to be a big master of karate!

  11. AmphibiousFries says:

Hope they bring back the cows :D

  12. Laughingblades says:

@thomasyi Yeah I agree the monk seems like a bad addition without a sword and shield type character. This will be the first Diablo game without a knightly looking character.

  13. Laughingblades says:

Ohhhh can we choose the sex of our followers?

  14. thomasyi says:

    Templar shouldve replaced Monk!

  15. MALKton says:

@RPGOmen sad story you have such acquaintances, bro …

  16. solesurv says:

I’m all over having the templar as my companion :)

  17. IskandarSams says:

The Templar should be a Playable character when D3 Expansion is out.

    Just look at those Armor

  18. mooneye81 says:

It seems like the “followers” are the classes that didn’t make that cut.

  19. da1krayziethug says:

At first I was excited “yay D3!”. Then I got bored. Then I got excited again “yay some news!”. Then I got bored again. Then I randomly forced myself to get excited again. Then I got bored. Then I got disappointed. Then I didn’t care much. Now I just don’t give a shit.

    1:08 Enough said.

Between Dota 2 and BF3, there isn’t much left for Blizzard to fill.

  20. CamaroTech25 says:

@seanobi777 That’s what expansions are for, adding in a few extra characters like necromancers and amazons wouldn’t hurt in an expansion since those 2 are fairly overpowered for a first run through since they have incredible range capabilities and strong melee forces.

  21. seanobi777 says:

@redkangaskan The witch doctor is probably the closest its gonna get for necro on Diablo 3.

one of the epic rpg was d1…..pfff:X
finished the game in one day 16 hrs:)))

  25. RPGOmen says:

    @sykhophaunt7

So it will be exactly like Diablo 2, then? These “rich bastards” will always have advantages in games. I know of someone who has 30 active WoW accounts and several super computers to multibox. He even pays someone to do his dailies for him on his computer and buys raid runs for titles and gear with both real life and in game money, which has millions of gold. This mindset is just not wanting someone who makes the same amount of money to get ahead, as the rich will always be.
